PHENIX CC-J : Overview

• Plan to construct a PHENIX Computing Center in Japan (CC-J) at RIKEN Wako Campus

• Founded by RIKEN BNL Reserch Center (T.D. Lee Direct.)

• Scope

  • principal site of computing for PHENIX simulation
  • regional Asia computing center
  • center for the analysis of spin physics

• Architecture

  • Essentially follow the architecture of RCF

• Construction

  • R&D for CC-J started in April �e98 at RBRC
  • Construction will begin in April �e99 over a three years period
  • 1/3 scale of of the CC-J will be operational in late �e99.
